Fish Fry

The Gratis Firefighters Association hosts its annual Fish Fry at Fire Headquarters in West Elkton on the first Friday of Lent. This annual fundraiser supports the association's community outreach and funding needs, bringing residents together for a night of great food, fellowship, and hometown tradition.

Fire Prevention

The Shawnee Fire District proudly hosts an annual community outreach event, Fire Prevention. This event features a variety of demonstrations and family-friendly activities each year, including a live grain bin rescue demonstration by the SOG Rope Rescue Team, a medical helicopter landing, and a “Touch-A-Truck” display.

Santa Run

In partnership with Santa Claus and the North Pole, the Shawnee Fire District hosts its annual Santa Run, a beloved community outreach event. Each year, Santa is escorted throughout the Fire District by our fire apparatus, spreading holiday cheer to residents of all ages.
